Use a Cordless Screwdriver and You'll be Fine February 29, 2008 Susan (Edison, NJ) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's true, the holes are not pre-drilled on the seat. But you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out where to put the screws. You line up the seat on the frame, hold them both in place and then turn the screws in. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, you can line up the seat and frame, take a pen or pencil and mark where the holes should be and pre-drill.
Look, I'm 8 months pregnant and I did this by myself with a cheap ($10) Black and Decker cordless screwdriver. The screws they use are not the typical philips or flat heads, they are hex screws and if you have a bit for your drill or screwdriver, that will make assembly a breeze. My chairs came with goofy Chinese directions(they were really funny, but I understood) and it took me about a half-hour to put the two together.
The chairs themselves look great. The pictures are lame and make them look a little cheap, but they really are nicer than I expected. The vinyl is not shiny, it is matte, but that's okay because shiny vinyl would probably look gross after a while. The seat cushion is extra thick and it's not that crappy foam that flattens after a few sits. The frame is sturdy, I had a 300-pound guy sit in one for dinner and all parts are still intact (phew!). Also, the glides are nylon so they won't damage your floor.
Sooo, I think these are a really good buy for less than $50 a piece.
Good quality - can be hard to put together April 6, 2007 K. Benner 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have 3 of my 4 chairs put together, but after a few weeks still cannot get the screws in the seatback of the last chair. The seat cushions do not have pre-drilled holes, so you can end up with all the seat cushions on differently. I am happy with the 3 chairs that are put together, but I now have one unusable chair.
retro style chairs February 13, 2008 Sue 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The chairs are great but there should be holes to screw the seat on. It was hard to do until I got the drill out to make holes.
Good quality, easy assembly January 12, 2009 J. Sweet 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The dining chairs were shipped quickly and I had no problem putting them together. They completed two similar chairs I bought a few years earlier. What kept the chairs from being five stars was that they are more of a matte finish on the vinyl fabric and not glossy, like the ones I have. The pictures and description do not describe that.
Nostalgic Style Black Finish Chairs May 6, 2010 Donna Roebuck (RAPID CITY, SD, US) I have been looking for retro chairs to finish my Coke Reto kitchen and these chairs finished my look at an incredible affordable price. These chairs are of quality too. I did not got wrong here.
